New Beauty magazine profiles Dr. Parfitt
New Beauty Magazine - July 2009
Dr. Parfitt is one of a select few board-certified facial plastic surgeons to be profiled in this prestigious national magazine.

In private practice for 13 years, Dr. Richard C. Parfitt approaches facial plastics surgery with the idea that beauty is subjective. "Whether you're softening a feature or looking to recreate the youth you once had, there is no 'one size fits all' procedure that's best for everyone," says Dr. parfitt, who models his practice off the belief that patients' faces are their calling cards -- deserving of a highly personalized approach to beauty...

For "Elena," the moment of truth came when she saw her picture in a newspaper. She had just given a successful presentation when the photo was snapped, and she was glowing with satisfaction — on the inside. To her dismay, the picture showed a tough, angry woman.

Cosmetic Surgery: Yes, I did.
In Business Magazine: May 2007
The publisher of "In Business" magazine decides to have cosmetic facial plastic surgery with Dr. Parfitt.
read article
When our editorial board considered writing about plastic surgery from a business perspective, I volunteered to have it done and to write a first-person account. I've never lost a sense of curiosity or the fire in my belly to get a first-person story -- and frankly, I was getting tired of asking the art department to photoshop my jowls. But it was more than a willingness to chase a story or lift a forehead: I was uncomfortable asking anyone else to do it because cosmetic plastic surgery carries a risk of permanent facial nerve damage. Such outcomes are estimated at fewer than one in 150 procedures, but it was a risk I personally would never "assign" to a volunteer.
I chose to go to Dr. Richard Parfitt. His staff made the ppointment on the very day of my 54th birthday, which seemed fitting. We were, after all, going to review how gracefully I was "aging."...

Rupcich Takes One on the Chin
In Business Magazine - May 2007
Today's executive male is looking for a competetive edge in an office full of young bucks. That edge...is cosmetic surgery
read article
Forbes.com comes to this conclusion in an Octorber 2006 report on today's exectuve male: "They're exercising, they've quite smoking, they're eating more healthy foods... [and they're] looking for a competitive edge in an office full of young bucks." The edge, the story continues, is cosmetic surgery.
In Business magazine asked cosmetic surgeon Dr. Richard Parfitt [Parfitt Facial Cosmetic Surgical Center] for an interview opportunity with a male business client who would fit that mold. John Rupcich, of Madison-based Life Style Staffing, agreed to a candid conversation with IB, and we first caught up with the busy executive in February, just a week before he was schedule to have extensive cosmetic plastic surgery....

What have you done for yourself lately? If the answer includes plastic surgery, you're not alone. More business people are now including plastic surgery in their self-improvement programs.
If this is your bent, start by taking an honest look at yourself in the mirror and giving yourself credit for the things you're doing right. If there are areas you want to improve, the experts say to limit yourself to a couple of realistic goals, not an entire grocery list of faults. Then give yourself ample time for being successful in achieving them.
The next step may be seeking the advice of a plastic surgeon or cosmetic dentist.

Putting Your Best Face Forward
Madison Magazine: February 2009
Does your face reflect the true inner you? That's the question Dr. Richard Parfitt often asks his patients during their initial consultation. "Having facial features that don't accurately reflect the degree of vitality, energy and youthfulness that you feel on the inside can affect how others perceive you and how you see yourself," he says. He sees his job as a physician and surgeon who can alter and restore external facial features so that they harmonize with a person's self-concept.

And it is that underlying reason that more and more people are turning to cosmetic surgery — whether it be actual plastic surgery, laser surgery on their eyes or other cosmetic procedures to change something about their appearance.
