Otoplasty (ear surgery)   Before   After Protruding ears are the result of either a deficient fold which normally "folds" the edge of the ear back toward the head AND/OR an excessively deep "bowl" that can be seen in the center of the ear. In this ear, both the normal fold has been created and the "bowl" has been altered to be less deep and closer to the side of the head.
